Jade Rabbit

Jade rabbit was a really fun experience. My sister in law is vegan and gluten free and I loved that we could go somewhere where she could eat about half of the menu or more. The tea was phenomenal, super great selection if you genuinely love getting into unique and tasty teas, the food was also very good, I think the overall crowd favorite of everyone ended up being the creme brulee dessert. The crispy calamari was to die for and genuinely made me feel like I was eating calamari. We will definitely be back in the future!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Portland metro area. I have only received exceptional service from their staff. The staff here actively participate in your dining experience. All staff are highly knowledgeable of menu items and their recipes. If you have dietary restrictions, you will never feel more cared for and prioritized. The dishes are exquisite. Every. single. One! I have never been disappointed and their drinks are paired perfectly to the menu’s diverse flavor profiles. I am not a vegan or vegetarian and Jade Rabbit helped me understand you can feel sustained and satisfied with vegan/vegetarian meals. They have expanded my palate exponentially.

This place is such a good vibe. The atmosphere and presentation were delightful and welcoming, as was the food and drink. However, it did seem a little lacking in flavor on some items and not others. The prices reflect quality ingredients however and that was apparent. The vegan pork, chicken, and beef were delicious, as was the chili oil. It just seemed to be missing a little bit of the kick (perhaps umami is what I am thinking), but was still very comforting. The chili oil will creep up on you in spice (which we loved). We thought the 22% gratuity (split among all hourly employees) was a smart move. The staff seemingly doesn’t babysit their tables, which I actually appreciated, but if you expect hovering service, this isn’t the place so be aware before you go and approach with understanding. We also loved how they included on their menu an ask that patrons not assume gender identity or ethnicity of staff. This place is a great asset to the community and we will be back!

We got the Mami Noodle Soup, Fiery Wind Soup, and the fried wontons. The noodles had a great chew and the flavors of both soups were excellent. The fried wontons were good too and had a nice crunch. I would love the option of having tofu be a possible alternative for the mock meat because sometimes the texture can be too real for me. We absolutely will be back though to try more options in the future!

Excellent snd adorable menu. I’ve had the bao buns from here shaped like bunnies - too cute, but today I got the World Vegan Month Special - the Faux-Squid Calamari and the chickk’n ramen. Both were flavorful and delicious. The calamari was crispy and a little spicy. My only complaint is they served it with too many jalapeños for my taste. I love sitting outside on a sunny day, but if it’s raining, they have a cozy wood stove inside that makes for the perfect fall/winter vibe in Portland.
